I can say that I joined to the programme coincidentally. Initially, I thought that it might be hard for me. On the other hand, I had already been fulfilling a physical recreation activity, taekwondo. I thought I could get involved to other sections of the program, skills and service. Thus, I would also gain new friends and new experiences. That’s how my Award adventure began. Though feeling tired, you are always interested in something and socialising. I have adored the ability of meeting new people, learning new lives, touching someone’s heart in any way, helping people. That brings me confidence and allows me to plan my life.
I have chosen theatre in the field of skill section. I was willing to take part in a theatre play, thanks to the Award Programme, I achieved my goal. I improved my taekwondo skills while actively performing it in physical activity section. The most important is the service, according to me. In the service section, I chose Turkey Education Volunteer’s Foundation. I have got together with children once a week and then initiated to support their education and be a role model for them.
I started to fulfill all acitivities with my free will, not because they were obligations of the Award Programme. Finally, I would like to say thank you to all people who have been with me in spite of everything and worked willingly as much as us; firstly to our advisor, to our homeland, to Turkey Education Volunteer’s Foundation and to my taekwondo trainer.
